Accelerate Venture Partners, a Wichita-based angel investor syndicate, is taking its first step into real estate with a $250,000 investment into an Indianapolis hotel alongside the Cochener Garvey Group and ATP Ventures.
Mary Beth Jarvis, CEO of NXTUS, which manages Accelerate Venture Partners, said expanding the group’s investment options into real estate provides lower-risk, shorter turnaround opportunities for their investment team.
Accelerate Venture Partners treats investing as a “team sport,” Jarvis said, organizing multiple investing members to contribute lesser amounts of cash to create a group investment, then AVP manages it. AVP specializes in angel investing, providing early-stage capital to startup companies, and since 2018, the group has mobilized more than $9.5 million in investments.
